Mailing Vintage PostcardsStep 1. Always keep your postcards in a protective sleeve-- especially when they are being mailed. Remember that mail is delivered in all weather-- and a wet postcard is an unhappy postcard. Step 2. Regardless of the type of envelope you use to mail your postcard, please remember to address the envelope before inserting the postcard. This is also a good time to write "Hand Stamp" or "Do Not Bend" on the envelope. Step 3. To further protect the postcard, it is wise to sandwich it between two pieces of cardboard or manila paper. Tape the corners of the cardboard to prevent the postcard from sliding in the envelope. This will protect the postcard just as nicely as any cardboard mailer, and cost a lot less. Step 4. After the postcard is safely in its envelope, put tape around each corner of the envelope to further reinforce it. Step 5. If at all possible, hand deliver your parcel to the post office. This will prevent any mishaps in a mailbox. |
